J.D. is a serial entrepreneur and founder of Alpha Funds, a technology-focused venture capital company, and Alpha Aerospace, an aerospace consulting and solutions company. He founded the Victoria Russell Foundation to honor the memory of his deceased daughter. The foundation is dedicated to supporting children’s education and assisting the families of first responders. It's a proud partner with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to bring the love of reading to children by gifting books free of charge to children. James "J.D." Russell is an American entrepreneur, spaceflight participant, and former law enforcement officer. He founded a community management software company InfoHOA in 2018 and launched Alpha Funds, a venture capital platform focused on aerospace and frontier technologies in 2025. In November 2024, he flew aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard suborbital mission NS-28, becoming one of the first retired U.S. police officers to reach space and the 670 person to cross the Karman Line on the List of Space Travelers by First Flight.
